Lontano da qui (far away from here) is a completely new opera entrusted to one of the most prominent contemporary composers, Filippo Perocco (his opera Aquagranda inaugurated the 2016 Season at Teatro La Fenice) and to the director Claudia Sorace from Muta Imago, which is a theatrical company whose aim is to do research into bodies and installations. This opera stages musically and scenically a reflection on change, uncertainty and finally rebirth.
This opera is dedicated to the Valnerina area and its people. A special preview for the audience from Valnerina is being held on 6th September 2018 (8 pm).
“Everything seems to be quiet: the sun is about to set as always and flowers perfume as always. Nature looks tranquil, wrapped up in its own eternity - cyclical movement of recurrence. Evenings are all the same. Among ancient houses, made of stones and plaster, there stands one house: within its walls, the voice of a daughter. She slips out of the sheets, she gets out of bed, she goes back to the bathroom, she enters the kitchen, where the TV is still on. If time is really cyclical, why not try to go back in time? Why not try to rewind? Maybe, if we managed to make the same gestures again, we could go back there, before everything happens. Maybe, if we made everything completely identically, we could leave, walk away, quit this time and get on the road. Far away from here.” (Claudia Sorace / Muta Imago)
The executive producer of this opera is the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in co-production with the Fondazione “I Teatri” in Reggio Emilia and it is being staged also at the Teatro La Cavallerizza in Reggio Emilia on 28th September (8 pm) and 30th September (6 pm).
The soloist singers are Daniela Nineva (mezzo), Emanuela Sgarlata (soprano) and Livia Rado (soprano) accompanied by the Ensemble of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale and the Ensemble L’arsenale.
In addition, this opera has recently received a prize from the renowned Ernst Von Siemens Foundation.
